IRNA - VfL Bochum`s Iranian striker Vahid
Hashemian is scheduled to return into the starting line-up of his team for Sunday`s home match against Borussia Moenchengladbach
after having his nose broken during a vicious assault by former team-mate Sunday Oliseh, the press reported Thursday.
Hashemian who is Bochum`s leading scorer with 11 goals, will
wear a special mask to protect his broken nose.
"It`s not ideal but I want to play at any rate," the 27-year-old player told the Kicker sports magazine Thursday.
Hashemian said earlier he was willing to "forgive" Oliseh for breaking his nose after his team`s February 28 home match against
Hansa Rostock.
The Nigerian midfielder who was fired from the team as a result
of the assault, had phoned Hashemian twice to offer his apologies.
Oliseh cited deep personal problems for the "Rambo"-like locker-room assault.
Meanwhile, Bochum`s head coach Peter Neururer has repeatedly ruled out a possible return of Oliseh who joined Bochum loan in
January 2003 from Borussia Dortmund.
